So Im reaching out to get a little advice. I live in rural SW Ont, our property corners a side road with a large drainage ditch. Its seems every other weekend we find another animal carcass dumped in the ditch or along the bush line. I understand it is the circle of life, to allow mother nature to decompose the remains but it has been attracting more and more coyotes. Is there anything that I can do to deter people from dumping along our property line?
Put up a sign. Should not be to hard to find out who it is ..ask around and see who is the local trapper and varmint hunters .
Yeah so 4 out of 5 are deer and 1 coyote.
If they are indeed carcasses from a poacher , hard to believe that he (not likely more than 1) would be so brazen to not hide his evidence better. If it's happening every other weekend time to call the MNR and report it.
Whats the rule on disposal for legally shot game carcasses?
I don't think there's any specific rule other than common sense. Out of sight of the general public is the best way. We usually try to dump ours back in the bush away from main trails. Whoever is dumping their carcasses on your property line is being a lazy slob.Quote:

If you can try and set up a trail camera in a discrete location and get pictures of who ever is doing it.
Contact the MNR and let them know about this.
At this time of year,deer carcasses can only be poaching...MNR is to heard about it...regarding coyotes,maybe someone shot them during the snack time(coyote ones)
Sounds to me like it's someone from the township, roads department, dumping roadkill.
