I have a pull start 1987 Johnson 20hp. I have read that I can install a unit/attachments to allow me to charge my boat battery, so I can run electronics. Can anyone direct me to the right direction? What is the attachment called and where can I purchase it?

I was told the same option was available for my late model Yamaha if I wanted it at a later date. I'd contact a marina/dealer and ask them if it is possible and then how much. Be prepared - $$$!
I expect it would be a magneto coil with extra windings that give a 12 v output. Much the same as those on the older sleds for the headlight and battery.
