Pulled into the driveway at 630 tonight and there is a black lab standing in front of my garage. We are at the end of a dead end road in a rural area NE of Orangeville. Poor old girl is grey around the muzzle, arthritic, rheumy eyed, deaf and has a decent size tumor on her side. She was standing in the rain shivering looking bewildered.

I went into the house and put my 2 dogs into the back room and than let her in. She pretty quickly scarfed down a bowl of food and took a long drink. I than introduced her to the 2 cats - no problem. I introduced her to the 2 dogs one at a time and after about 15 minutes they were all getting along fine. Pretty certain she was dumped - how anyone can do that to a gentle old soul like her I have no idea. Calling her Lucy for now.
We put out feelers to the SPCA, on facebook, with the neighbours and to the local vets we know in the hopes someone is looking for her. If nothing turns up we will give her a safe friendly warm place to live out her few remaining days in dignity. Just boggles my mind that people can do that.
