Reunited
Well I stand corrected. The old girl we took in last night was not abandoned. We put the word out through various agencies and social media to over 3000 people and it paid off. Ultimately it was the school bus drivers who connected us to the owners. We had the lost dog story and description broadcast via the dispatch radio to all the drivers in our area who in turn relayed it to all the students and one of them saw it on facebook.
Turns out they recently moved from the London area to a 25 acre parcel about 3/4 of a mile away. Yesterday afternoon the dog took off after a bunny and that was all she wrote. The happy owners reunited:

The woman was in tears and they gratefully gave us a bottle of vintage red wine as thanks. Nice people and kinda made my day to see them reunited.

Sad that most people instantly assume the worst of humanity...
Good to see the old gal comes from a loving happy home..and fortunatly she has meet new friends.

Kudos to you for going the extra effort to help the old dog find its owners. I can see how the dog got away chasing a rabbit and then off on an adventure. Happy endings for all involved
