Tohatsu builds small motors for Mercury.
Buy it and then you can be the first to write up a full report on it !
I bought a 25 4 stroke brand new in 2012 for my pontoon.
I haven't had any issues whatsoever, still running like a top.
I understood that they made motors for Mercury as well.

From what I understand they were supplying the motors to merc so if merc got out of the relationship it really has no effect on tohatso.

Dealer sells tohat, yam, and one other I can't remember. He says out of the 3 the tohat is what he'll stay with if he ever picks just one. Say's yam can't be talked to. I know that personally. Says tohat is good. Why are most outboard comps talking about water pump change each year? Are they nucking futs?Quote:

How I here it is that tohatsu and nissan are in bed now. That's what I worry about. My 20 merc just barely gets me to troll. And by that I'm not even talking a nice slow trout troll. So even though this thing runs smoother with a third cylinder is my troll speed not going to be more if for no other reason that bigger/higher pitch prop moves more water?Quote:
