Chimney Attacked
Discovered this when I was cleaning the chimney. Only thing I can guess is a woodpecker maybe a pileated woodpecker saw his his reflection and thought it was a rival. It dented it in about ¼ inch. Had to recock the flashing also sprayed painted the area so he wont see himself again.

LOL dents are too small for a Pileated more like a Hairy

I think that's what they do every springs to attract females, mail boxes are
targeted too.

Yes - woodpeckers make noise in the spring to establish its territory by banging on different things - just about every spring one starts banging on my rain gutter real early in the morning - drives me nuts - have to go out the front door and chase him away - maybe some big bird just flew into the chimney - they are always flying into things - like my patio windows

My son parked his Magic Wagon out back. The piliateds broke all of has mirrors. The y have also attacked the wooden trim on the house. Wife hates them....
