Don't go overboard on trying to push a load too fast. If you're using pre-formed pellets like Pyrodex or Triple seven, stick with 2.
My Dad has good luck with his Triumph with 250 grain TC shockwaves and the black sabots. He found a huge difference in accuracy between the black and yellow sabots. I believe he uses two Triple seven magnum pellets. Last fall I witnessed the performance on a nice doe at about 100 yards.

Good advice from GW11...start out with the pellets.
Shockwave bullets give great results.
I buy my bullets form PR Bullets in Manitoba...they sell top of the line bullets at great prices. Unfortunately they just had their fall sale and you missed the FREE shipping. But still, great bullets for the price $9 -$13 for a pkg of 12. https://www.prbullet.com/

Hi Dutch. I have the same muzzleloader and I love it. Those who prefer traditional smoke poles may say it's not a real muzzle loader due to the break/breach action but that's ok-each to their own.
Practice is key and get a small dental pick to clean out the flash hole. You will be surprised how fast it plugs up
As others have said use 2 of the triple 7 powder pellets and a good slug. I use the power belt
Good luck. You will enjoy shooting that.

I use 2 triple 7 pellets and hornady 300 gr bullets...More than accurate enough for my hunting needs/area...

Good advice above.
if I were you I'd buy some Triple 7 pellets and some 250gr TC Shockwaves.
I use two pellets, a Winchester triple 7 primer, 250gr Shockwave with yellow sabot.
You'll be pleased with the results, it's pretty simple.
I don't even use a scope, I've been happy with the TC fibre irons, they're pretty damn good.

Hey dutch, once you have a routine down for loading, it all goes pretty smoothly, I also like PR bullets, and I use blackhorn 209 powder, its a bit costly but it works as advertised, cleaner and hotter burning, you can really tweak your loads with the blackhorn, I premeasure into powder tubes and carry them with me when hunting, its just as fast and easy to load as pellets
