Good for Copper, I am sure he enjoyed the day as much as you! I can understand your pleasure after all the work and effort that you had to put in to assist in Copper's recovery. I am at the 4 month mark for my dog's TTA surgery recovery... still hard to stay on track for both the dog and me.
ACL injuries are becoming more common in athletic dogs not to mention the stress related in dealing with it for both canine and owner. Unfortunately, without sounding pessimistic, statistics show a high rate of injury to the other leg eventually. Hope that will not be the case with your dog and enjoy his full recovery.
Right on.
That's great to hear. Did the shells cycle ok?
Nice to hear copper is back to hunting.
unfortunately very true. My 6 1/2 yr old Brittany blew his left leg out this summer and had the TPLO procedure done. He was in his 4 month of recovery and doing quite well when we turned our back on him for a second and he leaped off the deck to chase an evil squirrel and blew the other side. So, less than 5 months after the first he did it again. This is a dog that used to run 30-35kms during a 2 hour hunt. Built like an absolute sh:t house, pure muscle. Until his original injury is completely healed I'm not even thinking of another invasive surgery again. I'll consider it a year from now.

Pheasants and the 16g were meant for each other.
