I am currently looking for a spinning rod for musky fishing. I need something from 7 1/2 to 9 feet long, 2 piece med./heavy or heavy action for lures from 1 - 4 oz. mostly. i have issues with my wrist and back, have tried a baitcast set-up but it is too hard on me. Been having a hard time to find a rod to fit the bill, any help would be appreciated.
Is it the thumbing of the spool that's causing issues?
Chucking muskie size / weight baits all day long will cause most people soreness and fatigue after a day on the water. I haven't seen, outside of offshore setups, spinning rods that will handle muskie / the baits, but can say ugly sticks come in heavy action and are nearly indestructible. Make sure your spinning reel is up to the task as well - really solid drag and huge line capacity for the 50-65lbs braid / flouro.

no issues with thumbing the line when using a baitcaster, the problem is with my wrists and the actual casting, spinning set-up is just easier to cast all day long. No boat at the moment so no trolling. I have an older reel that has a large capacity spool and a really good drag, it has caught a couple of musky so far and alot of big pike over the years, so not worried about my reel. I was thinking about an offshore rod and will look into the ugly stixs, thanks.
