87D trial and tribulations

Monday my friend and I were out he took a shot at one and missed. The gunfire all around us was like a war zone so that ended that days hunt.
Tuesday I went out and lots of shots from legal shooting time. I had a doe a fawn come in and hang around within 10 yards of me but I gave them a pass.
Thursday was my next day out and I couldnt get into the stand until 740 am :( Well I snuck in with one in the chamber and crawled into my stand. I was messing around with the zipper and finally new I was making to much noise!!
I unzipped my range finder and binoc's, set them beside me and looked up. Well there was an 8-10 point walking 75 yards away broadside to me. I get my gun up turn on my red dot and look for shooting lane. Our farm was clear land when my dad was a kid but now is full of 6-10 inch trees ( by farm we have 25 arces). I find a shooting lane wait for the right time and pull the trigger.......nothing happens safety is on. I look for another shooting lane, I line him up pull the trigger .......click misfire!!!!
I know I am screwed now. He stops for a second I ratchet and reload and he runs off. No deer for me.

Ya that sucks Seel's! I had that once with a box of 30.06 Remington shells.. 2 misfired from box, one on a nice deer and one on a target.. sucked

Is it just me, or does that look like a pretty weak firing pin strike to anyone else? I'd have the gun checked out.

Looks odd to me as well but I don't know if that is standard for his shotgun or not.

This happened to my A5.

Here is what I did to fix it: Soak the breech and breech block/firing pin in a solvent then apply a light oil that does not have a solvent in it. The 'cleaner/lube' oils with solvents gum up over time as the solvent evaporates causing the misfire (in my case).
