what would you do

There's a bush I've hunted deer in for about 8 years, and the farmer, who has become a good friend, decided to let 2 other guys hunt it as well. Honestly not to thrilled but nothing I can do about it. The bush isn't that big, I have 3 different stands up. So they put up a stand along the one edge not real close to any of mine, but they put a ground blind about 40 yards away from my primary stand! When I bumped into them the day they were setting up the said they never noticed my stand until they put up the ground blind, but it was 100yards away from mine. Like I said it's 40 yards! I don't quite get the mentality of these guys. You think they would have moved it when realizing my stand is right there!!!
Any thoughts ? starting to vent, sorry

Not much ye can do....gonna have to either suck it up and share unfortunately or start lookin for another spot if it bothers u that much. It does suck tho I know I am in the same boat in a few spots, but ye take what ye can get and I am still grateful for it.

Other option is hunt it hard in that spot and maybe the other 2 guys will get just as sick of you being in there all the time and move on themselves.

Consider yourself lucky, private land is tough to get, sharing with a known number of hunters is better than sharing public land with an unknown number of people including the local dog walkers, mushroomers etc who all impact deer movement.

My suggestion is to do what it takes to keep the landowner happy so he does not kick you all off.

Unfortunately, not much you can really do about it. The only options are:

1) To work it out between you three;
2) hunt the stand anyways;
3) or move your stand.

I suspect they would like you to choose option three based on the little you shared. I have had something happen like this before. I hunt a 300 acre farm split into three fields. There is a sign in sheet at the main workshop and we all sign in and out of whichever field we plan to hunt. Despite that system, there is a guy who doesn't really follow it or if he does he sometimes changes fields without updating the sheet. I have watched him setup a blind and a turkey decoy directly across the field from my set. I often wonder if he even pays attention to his surroundings. Long story short, I just move on to a different part or I leave. The landowner made it clear that he doesn't want to be involved in any disputes and that we need to work it out ourselves or he will put an end to hunting on the land for everyone. I haven't had a chance to talk with this guy as I would rather just move than bust both of our hunts. Anyways, good luck with your situation. I suspect you will have little luck with these guys as they have demonstrated that they are indifferent to you having a stand in a spot. Since you don't own the land, I would say if you aren't hunting then they should be able to do what they want and vise versa. That sucks since they likely are using your research of a good spot to setup their spot.

What really irks me, is that they put a ground blind 40yds away from my stand. That's not cool or respectful.

politely see if you can come to some sort of agreement and divide the property...you setup in certain areas and they do the same ....be like group hunting only NOT.

Use their ground blind !

As said above, whatever you do don't involve the landowner. He won't want the hassle and will likely give all of you the boot. You'll have to figure out how to work it out between all of you. Maybe set up a schedule that works for all of you. It's quite possible that the times you plan to hunt won't line up with their plans and aside from increased pressure on the spot you won't be in each other's way.

It sounds selfish but I generally explain to the landowner after getting permission about the potential headaches involved with allowing more than one person or group. I can see why down south with limited bush and lots of hunters how exclusive permission could seem selfish but around here it's the norm.

And you have every right to feel that way too. Unfortunately, you are in a situation where you have to share the land and so all you can do is make the best of it. Who knows, maybe they will spook a deer right to you.

Tough pickle to be in for sure. Try to work it out among yourselves. They should have realized how much of a headache it would be to have two hunters on top of each other like that. At the least they should have reached out to you and spoken with you about where you are setup so they could setup in another spot so you could all cover the bush.
