Nothing is better then a soft pelt. Way to cave in canadian tire.
Did they even sell any products with real fur..maybe more so in their subsidiaries ?
If you wish to tell them how a great decision was made:

I believe they sell rabbit hat but their sub are the most affected:

Canadian Tire will be selling firearms in their Cambridge store (Dundas and Franklin location) next year so they can't be all that bad. It looks like it is going to be rather large too.
To be fair to the OP, CTC will not be selling fur in TWO of its subsidiaries. Sport Chek, and Atmosphere. Not really sure how much fur product they sold in those stores regardless, but your Marks parka will still have coyote on the hood, and you'll still be able to buy fur garments in their stores.
Whether or not, you as a consumer will reconcile their decision into shopping, or not shopping there will be entirely up to you the consumer.

THIS STORY IS FALSE!!!
Well - sort of!
Peta, Forechange and others really jumped the gun on this one in reporting that Canadian Tire and all their subsidiaries have banned fur due to their tireless petitioning efforts. In fact, this is VERY far from the truth! These groups are only using this as an excuse to raise money and claim a (very weak) success. Fact is, the stores are just adjusting inventory to what consumers want.
It is only TWO subsidiaries that are no longer "bringing in new stock of fur". Those are SportChek and Atmosphere - stores that had very little fur in the first place, and their statements are really not very strong - in fact they made it clear that the decision was NOT for ethical reasons, just for sales inventory reasons. If the fur isn't selling then they arent going to bring in more fur.
Direct Quote: "[COLOR=#000000]we are not fur free yet – but haven’t purchased any product containing fur this year. We are always evaluating product choices, depending on what customers are asking for. If people are asking for warm coats but fur free coats, that’s what we’ll go for. We do not have plans to add anymore animal fur trimmed products to our inventory at Sport Chek and Atmosphere locations."
That said, Canadian Tire does call themselves Canada's Hunting and Fishing Store... so should be supporting the fur industry IMHO.
To be clear too, it's not the OP that has it wrong, rather it is the idiots at places like PETA who want people to believe that they had anything at all to do with this decision as a way to justify donations.
Eretha Franklin still sings the national anthem at sporting events plus songs at the grammies etc. She always wears a full length fur coat. Still considered a huge star, I love that she does that rather than bow to the political correctness that is taking over free thought.
