If he hasn't been found by now,it won't end well. SCUBA is a safe sport,but,stuff can happen real quick. Depending on his training level and those of his dive buddies,most underwater emergencies can be dealt with quickly,safely and effectively except,maybe, animal attacks. Condolences to friends and family.
I believe that they found his remains but no details...

His co diver surfaced and was recovered and then fell unconscious after entering the boat.
R.S. surfaced gave the ok sign and slipped beneath the surface.
He body was found by a FD ROV and subsequently recovered from 220 ft.
Sounds eerily like a case of ascent blackout. When one ascends from depth the lungs expand, essentially pulling O2 from the brain causing unconsciousness.
They used re breathers instead of normal tanks = trouble often.
Could be CO2 build up instead. How unfortunate.Quote:

I learned all about them from OPP USRU divers enough to steer clear of them for sport diving. Apparently,after following his career,he was a very experienced diver. Very telling,too,is the fact his partner collapsed shortly after surfacing. I can understand using that type of equipment if stalking dangerous fish for filming because bubbles and the ensuing sound attract the attention of Sharks and Orcas. CCR can be problematic if everything isn't done by the book and then some. You can end up breathing bad gas but no doubt they would have been well educated/experienced on proper use.
