Our great city of Toronto is once again on the leading edge. This time they have put by laws in place to ban the use of certain collars. They have also defined time limits for which dogs may be chained(tied up)
CKC and OFAH as well as NRCC have been made aware but unfortunately this puts us in a reactive mode.

What's the definition of "tethered"? Are they saying that you're not even allowed a choke chain if you're walking the dog on a leash?, or is it only in reference to a dog that is "tied-up"?
Id read that as no, you cant use any other those collars with a leash.
Another fine example of the inmates are running the ayssylum. And just adds reason 999 of why I dislike TO. I wonder how all the bench clubs are going to host thier confermation shows. No slinky choke chains. ?
Have a few friends on FB that are trainers or breeders on FB. Reactions are mixed and yes most all from Toronto...
Those is favour cite positive training, reinforcement is all that's needed
Those against: Cite positive trainers losing business because methods don't always work.
Me:
I liken it to our children. Years ago it was felt that discipline and "negative" reinforcement ( slapping/spanking) was bad for our kids. Today, we have two entire generations that are disrespectful and or unruly.

Most people in Toronto, don't know how to use a choke collar properly. They walk around strangling their dog!
