.270 ammo recommendation for moose and coyote

Hi- i am wondering anyone has experience with .270 Win for Moose and coyote.
Browning x bolt is the gun i am thinking of matching up with some good performing ammo.Thank You.

I use .270Win 130gr Hornady Performance SST works well for Coyotes. A couple of our Moose crew use 150gr. Remington Cor-Lokt. Both have taken adult Moose with ease. Boiler room shots is the key no matter what you decide to use.

I use 130 grain Barnes TTSX loads for my .270. The bullet is quite tough, though I have only used it on Moose and Deer. I am thinking that due to it's construction, it likely will not 'blow up' on impact with a yote, and should leave a nice clean hole without bad pelt damage thought I haven't tried that yet.

Hornady SST for yotes and Federal Trophy Bonded for moose

Killed my two moose with 130 gr Nosler partitions. One just behind the eye, the other thru the ribs (twice). All shots thru and thru. The rib shot killed within twenty feet, the head shot was instant.
Also had 90 gr for varmints, partridge, rabbits, etc.

If youre shooting partridge with a 90g out of a .270, i imagine the diner table would be scarce..is there anything left after the shot? (oh wait, they're all head shots right..lol)

Totally agree with the Nolslers.

I use the regular Winchester 150 grain SP in my 270 for everything, but if you're wanting to save the coyote pelts these won't work because of the large exit hole.

Most shots are between 20-40'. You just have to remember that the bullet hits about 1" LOW at these ranges. If you use a reasonable rifle you can shoot it with no flinch. (243, 270, 308 etc)
Back when we could hunt with handguns we soon learned that you could breast shoot a grouse with a 240 gr bullet at 700fps without loosing any meat. A 40 gr bullet at 1000 fps would mostly result in a lost bird unless you hit the spine.
