how come this rifle isn't more popular? Seems like good moose or bear cartridges, 300 win mag and 30 06, semi auto, and low recoil.
all the youtube reviews shown respectable accuracy for expected ranges for these animals. Any opinions?

$1700 deer/moose rifle, I think that may be part of it. High end bolt actions are $6-700 less and a Remington pump 7600 is in the same price range as that bolt, often less.
Could be price ? a buddy of mine has one and it is a solid rifle for sure and very accurate. I have been eying a Benelli MR1 in.223 for coyote hunting as I have heard nothing but good things about them .
High end brand loyalty...like everything else, you pay a lot of extra for it, it's argumentatively worth the extra to some guys.
I have an R1 in 270wsm. I went with a black comforttech stock. There is also a 30/06 in the wood stock at our camp.
Funny story comes to mind... the owner showed up with an unused turkey tag that he used to check zero before coming... I'm sure you can imagine the teasing when someone brags about there accuracy in front of 15 guys. Then the comment about hitting the O in Ontario. ... well next year we all had washers and said we all shot the centre out of a twoonie before he showed up. Fun way to start the Nov hunt
