That first amendment is a real pita eh.
@joepa
You have countless posts supporting your second amendment rights, and spewing American propaganda, yet you don't think your fellow Americans should be allowed to have their first amendment rights......
I'm confused.
They have the right to speak up but don't do it by dishonoring the flag of our country - I have the right to criticize the way they are doing it - a lot of good men died fighting under that flag and it should be respected - there are other ways and times to protest not while the national anthem is being played - if it wasn't for football most of these guys would be flipping burgers
Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.

You should read up on what is and what isn't proper with the flag. btw the big ones the league uses on the field for most games does not meet the standard nor does wearing it as a cape.
What they would or wouldn't be doing if they weren't playing football is doesn't change the first amendment.
I strongly dissagree with kneeling during any event that displays a nations flag. If a person wants to make a point about social injustice then do it without involving a national flag or anthem. It is ignorant, insulting and wrong. When I watch a sporting event (I'm a huge sports fan) I don't want politics to be involved. In my opinion, sports is a time to sit back, relax and enjoy without the worlds issues to interfere with that simple pleasure.
If you don't want politics involved then don't play a national anthem. The playing of anthems was politicized long before someone used it to try to make this point. They aren't asking anyone to like it. The most you need to do is understand their right to freedom of speech and expression... and you are welcome to ignore their issues... which is part of the point they are making.
