Hi, anyone know if a non resident can hunt spring turkey in Ontario, non guided?
I'd really like to do it.
It takes an Albertan 11 years to draw a tag here. I went to SE B.C. last April, only saw hens. Then saw a Tom in a Alberta mountain unit (that doesn't even have a season!) while out scouting new elk country.

Turkey Hunting Requirements
Residents and non-residents wishing to hunt wild turkeys must have:
- A valid hunting version Outdoors Card;
- A valid small game licence tag or e-licence (for resident or non-resident as the case may be; must be purchased prior to the turkey licence);
- A wild turkey licence and game seal.
No guide, just nonresident small game licence and a turkey licence....my buddy from BC hunts with me every year...nonresident small game licence is a bit pricy though....
And the turkey license is the same price as resident license.

I'll have to look up an old coworker I know in the Grimsby area, who hunts turkeys and see if we can get out.

Yeah, Ontario is great if you want to hunt turkey, deer or bear OTC. Spring turkey can be a lot of fun as well as a lesson in humility. You can get two spring season tags and a fall one. Now you just need a non-resident small games license which is $123.20 (inc. tax and admin fee) plus turkey seals which are $31.45 each. Tags are OTC and are good for any WMU with an open season. There are shot size and gauge restrictions so make sure you read up on the regulations. Keep a watch for ticks, we have them and they are plentiful enough.
