Poor results with Power Belts

Off to try to get my ml sighted in better. Shooting an CVA Optima Pro, have had since 06 but hardly used it. Put a new Nikon Inline 3x9 scope on it and going with TC 240gr.XTP-HP, 777 pellets for now, have a box of white hots too. Also have, Remington and Winchester 209 primers. Hope I have better results than the Power Belts. From what I have been reading think I will be switching to loose powder for next deer season, probably blackhorn 209. Any advise feel free, still quite new to the ML thing. Sure lots of do dads etc that go with muzzle loading. The information can be a little overwhelming lol

When I had an omega I bought in to the power belt theory. I had horrible results with the PB's. I would toss them & use Hornady XTP's with a good quality Sabot...

Bought a pack of 30 that came with the sabots and bullets, think the sabots are called mag express, black in colour. Fingers crossed heading out to sight it in soon.

All muzzleloaders I've had Powerbelts have flown well out of. However with next to zero expansion I quit using them and opted for a different bullet

The amount of powder you load has a lot to due with bullet performance....the best results I get from the bullets I like to use is 80gr of loose T7....those same bullets however don't group very well at 100 gr and are basically useless with 110 gr.

Time on the rage, go thru pound of powder, keeps notes and you'll find the sweet spot :)

Going with pellets for this season, going to use up the 777 and then the white hits, going with 2 pellets for both brands

My ML is shooting much better with the new ammo, started at 50 yds, finished at 100 yds 2 inches high and 2 inches to the right, back tomorrow for another session. 8 shots total, swabbed between shots but could feel that it was getting hard to get the bullet seated properly. All cleaned up and ready to go.
