Different primer and pellets affecting accuracy??

Heading out this morning to finish sighting my ML in, CVA Optima Pro bought in 06. Shooting Hornady 240 grain, 45 cal. In black sabots. With 2 -777 pellets and Remington 209 primers. Almost out of the 777 and Remington primers. Question is will there be much difference switching to 2-White Hot pellets and Winchester 209 primers? I will be hard pressed to try the new combination before Monday’s opening day. Feeling unprepared but hopeful there won’t be much difference with accuracy,fingers crossed.

If you are going to the range Shoot the new load first

Good plan, think I will do just that, might as well go with the load I will be using hunting.

You can get tighter groupings when you have more control over your powder in the load. Those pellets are more than is needed and tend to cause grouping to open up. Most guys will attest that once you scaled back to around 80 grs of loose powder they will hit more consistently.

My buddy has that ML and he shoots nice groups with 80 grs of BH209.

Thanks! I will definitely be using loose powder for next deer season, probably the black horn 209 or whatever it’s called. Think I will need a new breach plug but shouldn’t be too big a deal to convert over I hope. Good luck to all next week,hope to see some antlers.
