did they mention how far away he was...I think that old boy needs to get back to the range...and not home range i mean gun range. Impressive power but video is not likely going to win any awards with the antis. "ohh gee I missed completely but look the her eyes got sucked out of her skull"...maybe when your paid to hunt you start loosing respect for what you kill...
Note: for perspective..this was a population management cull to remove a few does from a 'high fence' Game farm.
Douche move imho... Sucked the eyes out of its head.
By the way; that whole theory was de-bunked on a you-tube video out at Demolition Ranch..
The tabled theory ( from the comments section) is that he actually shot a thru & thru the eye sockets.

Well first off this is not a hunt as the title suggests but selective killing of animals.
The guy wanted to kill a deer with his BMG and get it off his bucket list. He did but not my idea of being a sportsman.
What would be next? A bazooka? If they want to analyse the effect of that round on flesh then they simply can look at the corpses of 200 lbs men laying around in the sand in the middle east. We all know what it can do.
There's 10 minutes of my life I will never get back,
Bottom line, who cares, red necks, shooting canons at a ranch, does a man that goes to a trout farm call himself a fisherman?
I don't know why this would be any different than hunting a deer with any other rifle, shot placement and being within range. There are lots of guys who shoot them with 300 win mag and 338 lapua at long range, may not be your cup of tea but to hit a deer in a vital spot to kill it is not based on the caliber, a 50 BMG miss is still a miss.
I also disagree with the concussion killing it, I remember being told that a 303 Brit or 30-06 miss just to the side of the head of the grouse will breaks it's neck, that is total BS, missed one with an 8x56 just to the side, missed twice actually and then killed it on the 3rd shot, 50 yards away.
No such thing as overkill. Back stop would be the worry.
Shooting it with the 50 is not the issue, claiming that the bullet sucked its eyes out and then posting on the internet by a supposed authority is what is ridiculous .
