retriever cluds or hunt/field tests

Hello fellow dog lovers, I'm new at this and just starting out with my dog. So some advice or guidance would be very helpful. My yellow lab is one year and almost 2 months now, had a wonderful waterfowl season with him after a summer of training. He made some beautiful retrieves and some not so cool moves (ie breaking, issues picking up dead geese, he will pick up lives ones no problem so they done get away, dead ones he likes to play with).
So just thinking about the upcoming training year ahead and how to make this next duck season great, I am wondering if there is any retriever training club around southern Ontario I could check out and meet some new people. Also I would like to get into hunt tests but have no idea where to start.

Where are you located? There are a number of Retriever clubs in Southern Ontario, we can definitely see where we can point you.

Take a look at the HRC (Hunting Retriever Club) website (www.huntingretrieverclub.org) as they list clubs and the National Retriever Club of Canada (www.nrcc-canada.com) website and look under the Hunt Test tab which will show you the active clubs hosting tests this year.
