RCMP charge Okotoks homeowner after shots fired

Another case of a property owner being charged for discharging a firearm at trespassers. It took a few day before they laid the chargers so I guess the fed's lawyers decided they want this before a judge.

I say again..time for this country to enact 'Castle Doctrine' as a deterrent and allow property owners to protect themselves.

Edouard Maurice, the homeowner, is facing three charges of aggravated assault, pointing a firearm and careless use of a firearm. He was released from custody following a hearing and is scheduled to appear in Okotoks provincial court on March 9.

Ryan Watson was charged with trespassing by night, mischief to property, theft under $5,000 from a motor vehicle, possession of methamphetamine and failure to comply with probation. He appeared in court in Calgary on Monday.

After the Stanley acquital,jurors have struck terror into the hearts of the federal Justice Ministry. Apparently,they really have their poopy panties in a big knot. Heaven forbid that Canadians may possibly be able to defend themselves with firearms. They can't have that,now,can they?

The Castle doctrine will never happen with the Libs in power, they like criminals too much.

In this post-truth, magic balance world of theirs the left think:
1) the criminal needs a hug and he will turn into a good guy
2) the victim is the problem, they shouldn't ever defend themselves, curl up in a ball and piss yourself seems to be their ultimate defense they approve
3) anyone willing to stand up for themselves and not be totally dependent on the police is a problem. The police and the gov't should do all the peoples thinking for them
4) scared and divided people can be pitted against each other for votes, us vs them is one of their best way to gain and increase power
5) and the below the surface reality criminal and terrorism let them put controls, strict laws and take freedoms all in the "name" of safety but in the end forcing a greater fear and dependence on the gov't and police.
6) more laws and restrictions are good for the people. If something went wrong it was because of freedom and there should be a law.


No self defense requires a will power and strength, both are ant-left ideas and more and more I see the left not just creeping but now running towards the 6 points faster and faster. Listen to the left and think, I am paraphrasing some of the recent things you can hear:
"lost tax revenue" - people got to keep the money they earned,
"you can't hurt peoples feelings" - what if their protected feelings are lies and hurting others?
"truth doesn't matter" - in regards to "hurt feelings" and free speech.
"admiration for dictatorship of China" - favourite gov't of PM
comments of "great men" for tyrants and dictators (Castro,Arafat....)

Not happening under their watch!

Problem is that if the wife and are walking down the street and are attacked by three teens( under 18) armed with a shotgun, they will basicly walk free. Now if I punch the guy holding the shotgun in the nose, I will get serious jail time for assulting a minor and have a record for life.

Exactly, we are hearing only one side of the story [the police side ].
I wonder who called the police, I doubt it would have been the two guys rummaging through the vehicles , and did this happen in the built up area of Okotoks , or the rural area.

"One individual was later located with an injury to his arm and was taken to a local hospital to receive medical treatment for non-life threatening injuries. The second individual has not been located at this time. The home owner has been detained in custody pending the investigation," police said.

RCMP general investigation section in Okotoks have taken over the investigation, along with the forensic identification section.

Police are cautioning property owners to call them rather than "pursue or engage with suspicious individuals."

Do you honestly believe this garbage? If so, you live in a very sad and distorted version of reality.

The left (which is another way of saying most Canadians) believe that someone shouldn't have to die over stealing stuff. Some of us who live in actual reality know people who have gone to jail and then gone on to live normal productive lives. This is how we form these crazy left wing opinions like "you shouldn't be allowed to shoot someone for breaking into your car".
