Bear Baiting This season ... With Salt Lick...?
Did anybody thought about that .....?

I have used a salt block/lick for nine years.
It is just an easy way to 'take inventory" on the deer population with a trail cam.
In all that time the occasional bear, wolf and coyote pass through.
But they have never stopped to lick the block or the salty puddle of water it sits beside.
Seems like bears and wolves don't crave salt like deer do.
With all the tried and true'd methods to attract bears why go down a totally different path.
But hey!? Only a fool knows everything.
AND I've seen some of the most bizarre stuff work at times.
Give it a try and please keep up posted. you're a trailblazer on this one!
Bear have been know to steal a lick. Five salt licks last May until September. One bear passed by following a cow.
I have pictures of bears by the salt lick but have never seen them actually working it, but hey who knows!
A frying pan with fresh bacon and egg grease sitting on a stump works well,too.
