Hello there,
I took the turkey course some 10 years ago, but never had the chance to go turkey hunting, partly because turkey upnorth is kind of new. I hunt and fish close to home. Not big on travelling.
I'd appreciate any advice you have from where to look, what to look for ... heck what to do?! lol
Is hunting north of Burks Fall a good idea?
Not lookin for your secret spot or anything, but if you can point me in the right direction would be great.
Check out fields early morning and later afternoon. They like to rooste in big old trees scout earlier and later.hope this helps.
You have to find turkeys to be able to hunt turkeys. Scouting is the biggest part of turkey hunting
I'm blessed...once the warm weather gets here it's easy scooting...I start to sit on the porch in the morning for breakfast and I can hear where the Tom's are :)Quote:

Anyone hunts Parry Sound/ Nipissing area? Just wondering what their numbers are like.
I see turkeys just south and east of North Bay on occasion. I'd scout gas pipelines, hydro cuts, clearcuts and any fields in the area, in that order. Ask anyone in the area that has bird feeders near their house. They'll know if they're turkeys in the area.
