Moving to Toronto
I am moving to Toronto from Nova Scotia and was looking for a partner or group to tag along with to get the lay of the land and do some hunting. I do mainly waterfowl and have all the gear for duck and goose field hunting, and some floaters for water. I do enjoy the odd bear hunt when i have the time to set up a bait site. Ive done some deer hunting, but our deer population is pretty thin so not much experience there. I am working on getting all my licenses switched over to Ontario. Let me know if anyone in the Toronto area is interested.

Welcome to Ontario, Lots to discover

Welcome and sorry,can not help.
Check out your status for hunting in Ontario-for many things they may consider you a non resident(living in Ont for less then 6 months this year....)Unsure how that exactly works, just a heads up.
Unless You are a military or police or other "group"where this rule does not applies. Cheers

Welcome! If you're here now, wait till October to buy your licenses. You will have been here for the required residency of 6 months and it will be a lot cheaper?
Lots of hunters and fishers down your way, you should be able to hook up with some of them? Good Luck!

My condolences...unfortunately you will have to do some traveling for any kind of hunting around here...good luck with your move...

Sorry to hear that Man, Canada is a big country!!! My condolence x2....

Lots of public land around Barrie and much more as soon as you arrive around Muskoka / Parry sound.

I'm in Toronto and I'm trying to get out ;P
I'm a brand new hunter but I've done some research that I'd gladly share.
Drop me a message.

Some advantages, Kensington Market, China Town, St. Lawrence Market, Baldwin Street... alot of different food and restaurants, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Indonesian, Ethiopian and on and on...
You have good advice on the licenses.
Fishing and Hunting gear.... nothing south of the 401 .... don't go to MEC, Wilsons fly fishing store is still closed I think and Sail and Bass Pro are outside the 401/427/ Don Valley "box"
Fishing... a few charters and a couple places along the lake shore but not many
target shooting clubs.... there were a few but to my knowledge all the ranges the Mayor shut them down quite a few years ago
.... and as for hunting opportunities .... on CGN I've been selling all but a couple of my Dad's/grandfathers.... I guess you can try

My condolences x4. I recommend you stay in Nova Scotia and can't figure out why anyone would move to Toronto. Nova Scotia is a piece of heaven and have some family that moved to Nova Scotia about 15 years ago and haven't looked back. It must feel like you have landed on an alien planet moving to Toronto. I wish you well.
