Thinking of starting to hunt coyotes...

Hello everyone, fairly new to hunting ( this year) been a very long time I have been wanting to do this. Thinking of wanting to go some coyote hunting. Unfortunately I purchased a 30-06 so thinking that's gonna be a little to aggressive for coyotes. So looking at the savage 11/111 with scope from cabelas. Not sure what caliber would be best kinda looking to keep this rifle under the 1000$ range. Also wondering if a ground blind, electric decoy, or cheaper decoys out there. Not looking to break the bank but I do want to get the right stuff to get get going and keep upgrading from there as time goes on if I enjoy this hunt, I have a feeling I will from the few post I read it looks like a fun adrenaline rush.

Also if you have advise on what would be my best option for locations (I live east of Ottawa) would farm fields be my best bet?

Any ideas/help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Good choice of firearm make the debate will come as what caliber anything from a 22lr to a .270 will work calls there is some very good entry level devices i think cabelas has them on sale right know one caliber i would look at is the 25/06 do some research it might impress u

Also forgot to mentioned I am a left hand shooter so I would like to get a left hand bolt action that does limit my options on what rifles are available for me to purchase

The Savage in 22-250 or .223 will a great pkg.

Well coyote hunting is awesome and congrats on getting onto it. 22-250, 223, 243 or 25-06 are common calibers. A lot of guys keep a spare shotgun with them as back up for close in shots.
Start cheap and work your way up, Savage Axis is a good start, decent rifle that wont break the bank and pretty accurate. First and foremost, find places to hunt, farms with woodlots are a good place to start. Get permission from a couple different farmers, they are normally more than happy to allow you to take coyotes off their properties. Drive around finding packs and howling to see if you get responses, not unlike turkey hunting.
Sound calls get their attention, sound and movement is better. Keeps their attention away from you and your movements. One of the best things to be mindful of is wind direction. Their sense of smell is incredible. Keep the wind in your face as best you can.
