I will be looking for an All weather Tire (Not all Season) this Spring. Would like to keep it well under 1000.00.
I have a Dodge Ram 4x4 with 20 inch rims. Whats a decent tire? I'm not using the truck for Mud Bogging or anything. But I do have the 4x4 in case I need it.
Not overly worried about the millage rating as I do an average of 10,000 km's year on the truck.
Have you considered going with an all terrain instead? You'd certainly get better off road performance.

I did look at the All Terrains but they don't give a rating for ice.
Although I am not worried about using 4X4 and I have done lots of off roading. Unless I have no choice I don't plan to drive the truck mud bogging. Yes I will use it for going up some rough terrain but for the most part we have many of our camping spots well known and only occasionally need our 4x4 if we decide to go farther we use the ATV's.
I do go in farm fields and when tree cutting and have on occasion needed 4x4 but I can always handle the situation if I do something stupid.
My biggest concern is traction in the winter when I might really need the truck,Its only used when I need it. Like Camping, hunting and hauling something as well in the winter it's needs be ready to do work when the roads are bad.

Bridgestone Dueler. I had 140,000 km on a set . Good highway tire as well as off road.

I'm very happy with my Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs. I've been using them for 2 years now. I sold my winter tires as I don't need a separate set anymore. They go one sale often at Canadian Tire for 25% off.
The biggest obstacle you'll encounter is finding decent 20" tires balanced and installed for under $1000.Quote:

if you're not going offroad - I have a set of continental summer tires 20" from my Silverado that are for sale 10k on them - cheap.
They were on the truck when I bought it and they are no good for winter or off-road.
You don't need load range E tires for off-roading. You need them for hauling a lot of weight, which may be more of a concern for the OP than off-roading.Quote:
