25th Anniversary for Luther Marsh Hunting Retriever Club
Hello! As many of you know, I actively participate in retriever hunt tests. This year is a big year for Luther Marsh HRC as it is our 25th anniversary. We will be putting together a big raffle and silent auction again this year to raise funds for the club.
Our club gives people of all ages an opportunity to get out and do stuff with their working retrievers outside of hunting season. Our participants range in age from the junior handlers who partake every year, up to some of the gentlemen I have met who are still enjoying time with the dogs into their 90s. We also support the Youth Day that Luther Marsh hosts every fall. The hunt test game is also near and dear to my heart, as it gave my mom something to do while she was battling cancer. She was not the woman with cancer, she was the woman out there training her dog who had doctor appointments every once in a while. It gave her something to focus on. It also gave my old girl, Burly, something to keep her happy and healthy as she aged. We were still competing at 11.5 years of age. With those things in mind, I happily support the game that supports my family. So here I am, OOD :)
