Looking for your specialized expertise here.
I will be in LA driving down to San Fransisco in June and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations or experiences fishing this area before.
I am open to anything, pier fishing, boat rental, charter, etc.

I've been to the Texas Gulf coast area a few times and looked into a charter. It was obscenely expensive--starting at $600 U.S. for a very basic, short-lived trip. Needless to say, I kept my angling to peer fishing and actually had a blast. Never knew what was going to come out of the water-I saw everything from salt water drum to hammerhead shark.
