Found that last coyote of the season
I took this coyote on one of my last stands of the season.....so in mid March....
He came in to some dying rabbit sounds. He appeared on the trail about 5 minutes into the calling set. I first seen him on the trail standing there looking in my direction, he must have seen me move or something because he got a little spooked and headed back into the bush only to reappear in the opening below. He stopped broadside so I took the 150 yd shot......
At impact he did a spin and took off running. I thought I hit him well but when I went over to impact area all I saw was a little bit of hair and a little bit of blood.....
I followed his tracks as best I could but with very little blood and the hard snow I eventually lost his tracks in the hard spotty snow that was there at the time. I was a little disappointed especially since I knew/thought I hit him well but I know sometimes it always doesn't work out......
So out for a turkey hunt in the same area, decided to go look around again and I find him about 120yds from the original shot.....Not sure how I missed him the first time around but judging from the results, looks like I did... Until next season... :)
