If we can't discuss the gutting of the endangered species act here , where can we?......:scream: Is this how ford is paying back the developers who helped get him elected. He promised them he would carve up the greenbelt but had to backtrack after the public rejected that idea.
OK,which issue do you want to discuss,first,second thoughts on the "greenbelt" or changes to The Endangered Species Act?
Why not both in the same post , as you are going to talk about both anyway. This was how he was going to pay back his development industry benefactors ,whatever way he could, he had to, he owed them. Try to tell me how this legislation is good for Ontario.

System was broken, with too many "agencies" each protecting their own self interest.
I was at a Lions Club Dinner in Orangeville....
CVC came and presented a trail plan they wanted money to help build. Even had a beautiful set of plans, showing the trail as it crossed Island Lake with about 26 stone filled cribs supporting the bridgeways.
I had just watched the CVC push the municipality into installing a 80M span bridge over a creek that amounted to about 3' across during the Summer ( they originally wanted 120M). The cost was almost $1M added to the roadway construction cost.
I waited my turn, and asked the CVC rep why 26 cribs across the waterway was considered ok, considering they had no compunction insisting the tax levy fund an additional million, for an 80M bridge to "protect fish habitat".....
It didn't go well from that point onward....
Good friend lives in Brooklin. He has the property and zoning to do some work including a small much needed addition.
Problem is he’s 100 yards from Lynda creek. And about 10 yards above it.
The crap he had to go through with CLOCA...what a joke it was. Suffice to say he gave up.
As with most things I have mixed thoughts. People are funny, none more so than the coddled residents of the GTA.
They’ll gripe about congestion, grid lock, house prices, the cost of irregular immigrants ( Tory) etc one day. The next day they will whine about the Cecil’s of the world.
Without ever fully grasping they are the problem. Can’t grasp why Urban Sprawl is exploding, can’t grasp why soooooooooo many flock there. Don’t understand cause and effect.
And that they can’t have their cake and eat it to, or that nothing in life is free.
Makes me laugh.
Gripe about the acts, the Cecil’s and about grid lock, house prices, etc....shame few of them understand the value of dispersing, or “carrying capacity”
