kirkland lake spring bear

went up to kirkland lake last year for my first ever spring bear hunt . we hunted hard all week with no success,just fed the black flies.
this year i was only in the tree stand for 1 hour and took a beautiful young bear at 35 yards , a memory that will last a lifetime . took him home and made approx 70 sausages with the meat , my wife ,who is not a fan of wild meat tasted some barbequed back straps and loved it as well. cant wait for the fall hunt now!!!!!!!!!
i wanted to take my first bear with my excalibur X bow but decided to sit the first night with my 3006 dropped him in his tracks 20 yrd from my atv.

Right on. Congrats. :thumbup: Those are the best to eat. Didn’t hunt much this year but when I could of shot one, I opted to pass as it was too hot and I was too far from home.

Wtg, who says you need to park an atv at least a hundred yards away from the stand.
