Definitely dedicated bow for fishing.
It's hard on your bow shooting them heavy arrows and banging it around the boat or river bed.
I had a 50lb diamond bow I bought for $200. Bought the muzzy bow fishing kit with rod n reel and 2 fiberglass arrows with broadhead.

Go to Shooter's Choice in Waterloo they have some used equipment ...... Zebco 808 , fishgetter rod and tons of used bows ! Also note season closed Aug 1 ,,,, and to answer your original question ... definitely a bow strictly for fishing ,

I bought the Bow used for $200 (2010 Diamond stud)
I'm pretty sure I bought everything else from Amazon, Muzzy rod n reel and arrow rest, 200lb cajun line, two 30" fiber glass arrows
I cut 4 pins off the sight that came with the bow. Only have 1 pin and it's almost useless anyways.
You aim way low on the fish, the farther the fish is, the lower you aim for when the arrow hits the water it really deflects it.
I missed so many 10+ yard shots I would limit myself to about 5 yards, preferably 4 foot shot straight down lol

Check the firearms bylaws wherever you plan to bowfish. Just because there is an open season doesn't necessarily mean you can start slinging arrows. Lake Scugog isn't too far from you and has decent bowfishing. Probably need a boat though.
