My uncle's place on Nipissing near Calendar has had them for a few years too.
There was an early release location near Noelville, my uncle had a camp there and the sign was up for years. The population has not really taken off there though.
I have seen turkeys as far north as the UP in Michigan, and in Wisconsin and Northern Minnesota, so they obviously can handle northern weather.
There was a Turkey release in WMU45 St.Joseph Island and they have established them selves very well. A few turkeys left the island and established themselves in WMU36 and a couple years ago a spring turkey season was opened.
My cousin has them on there property for years in Loring.
They refuse to go to Timmins, the City with a Heart of Gold. 😂
They opened a season for them in WMU 36. Lots of them east of the Soo now.
there is or was a season in 47 now, so they must be that far north? I swear I have heard them at our place outside Port Loring, but not seen them.
saw some on the side of 11 just north of Huntsville.
