That's why my baits are 3 to 5 km from the nearest ATV trail. I have never had anyone find one. Never have cameras touched and never have to compete with other baits. More work for sure but I don't mind that.
If you can't get away from other hunters I would try posting signs saying "active bear bait.". Some people need it spelled out.
I don't know, maybe I am off here, but if they accidentally come across the bait site and just have a look (people are curious by nature) what's the harm?
Hopefully you get your bear
Yea but like its at the end of the trail off a steep ridge they would be able to see it from up top dont need to come down and tough everything is my point
I just hope my bear dosent get scared from it
They definitely weren’t trying to be dicks if they left the camera and intact. Someone who was trying to do harm would at least be smart enough to get rid of the camera. I agree. Simple mistake and people are curious. Also understand being worried if your bear is gone after waiting and working it all off season.
The amount of tree stands I have stumbled across accidentally while hunting I couldn't even begin to count. Sometimes if you aren't looking for it you barely notice until it's right in front of you. Just be thankful they left everything as it was.
