Sad news

Didn't know where to post this. I just had to vent. After a break in of my garage, I will have to replace most of my rods and reels and full tackle bag. Lost was an especially sentimental rod that I built back in 1980 and still used, along with a vintage Garcia Mitchel 300 reel that still worked flawlessly. Other rods and reels should be easier to replace. The thieves also got a Stihl 034 chainsaw and an upright 26 gal. air compressor. They cut a big hole in a chain link fence to haul it away. Sorry to hear that. Hopefully,your insurance will cover the loss. Sadly,no amount of cash can compensate for sentimental items With any luck,you may get your stuff back if Police can recover any of it.

Sad news indeed. Hopefully you can get your rod back, There are still plenty of Mitchell 300's out there around $30. Maybe you could post a pic of the rod?

Bin dar dun dat.lol Also scoured the hood and local chop shop. I still know a few shady characters who know me and they are keeping an eye open.........................so they say. lol

Had the same thing happen to me a number of years ago. Lost all my rods and a chainsaw. My humble advice : let your insurance company know but hold off on assessing value of loss. It will come to light later on that you also lost other gear not noticed at this time.
My original claim was for $400 in fishing tackle then later on realized my saw was gone as well. Even later I discovered other tools were taken.
Fortunately when I went to a tackle shop to have my claim replaced he wised me up about the current replacement value of gear alone was just over $2000 that the insurance company honored.

Sorry to hear but that stuff is probably gone for good. Thieves are the biggest pieces of sheeeet!

Aside from the sentimental value of items lost, the feeling of someone violating your personal space is hard to swallow, I've learned this lesson myself.

Hopefully you can find some form of Justice.
