Try hunting rivers. My go to spot is much better once the snow comes.
Go out a break out a section of ice that's what we used to do!
I second the river hunts, can be awesome hunting once the ponds freeze.
Yep rivers, or a distance down from locks/dams/etc.
i think i may need to call it quits before i drown. the otonabee, she moves quick this time of year and i don't know how i'd handle it in the canoe
When the weather turns cold I have the same problem with the canoe. Not worth the risk of death for a few ducks, I have a few go to spots these days, but if you can't find somewhere to hunt I'd suggest scouting for one you can walk to. There's thousands of Acres of public land in this province and if you are keen and have the time you can find some really awesome spots.Quote:

hunt safe and if needed, there's always next year. heck, to keep you out of danger i'd even offer you to come out here to hunt the early season next year :P
i'm not above taking an offer to hunt. birds seem like more of a social activity than deer anyway. i'm still gonna have all next summer to scout and fish but with everything getting frozen it's gonna feel like foreverQuote:
