Avoiding temptations

While in the midst of isolation at home with Cindy, I thought about something our tour guide for our China tour told us when we were going to spend our first evening in a big city.
While this advice had to do with some of the shady “professionals” that work at night, his advice is applicable to the temptations we are feeling regarding not staying home and only going out for truly essential needs.


You may be out tonight and come across some people that may try to lead you astray, don’t do it. Part of you wants to go but you must resist. There are temptations out there and you think you want to go, but don’t do it.


These words ring true today more than ever. Stay home and do not invite others to your home, resist the pull of your cottages and stay home. Tomorrow almost everything will be closed so it should be easier to stay home.
In Grey Bruce 7 of our health care workers were diagnosed with Covid-19 and are no longer available to provide care.


Resist that urge to go out fishing, scouting for a Turkeys , bird watching or whatever your passion regularly was. It’s time to give up a little in order to slow the spread of Covid-19 and stay home.

“Too each their own”.

That is something I’ve tried to live my life by. It’s a courtesy I try to extend to everyone I meet in life Most people appreciate “receiving” it, sadly some while they want it, have hard times extending it.

At its simplest, I don’t much care how my neighbor conduct their lives. If they want to be nudist, or swingers, or bilble thumping Jehovah witness, or vegan dyed in the wool anti hunter. Live your life as you see fit, let me live mine. We will get along just fine

We cannot control what others do or don’t do. That’s the price of living in a “free” democratic society. Isn’t it wonderful?

These days are unprecedented. We here, have had nothing but 1st world problems for 100 years. Oddly the Spanish flu.

We are struggling to cope.

The “health crises” is just the first wave. The second and worst is going to be the fallout.

As hunters and anglers, we better than most, know it’s always the few.

My neighbor is a wonderful guy. The kind of neighbor every one wants. The past 3 weeks, cars and visitors (his kids, grandkids) are almost a daily thing. Should I go smack him upside the head? Have words with him? Or

JMatthews, I have a lot of respect for you and the things you do however, one must be left to ponder....... What do people do to the record when it starts skipping?

I get your point. Let’s hope we all work together so that we can get out Turkey hunting and fishing soon and put all this behind us.

To each their own. If I want to go out as long as I stay clear of others and I'm not around anybody that's up to me and my well being. I continue to go to work every day, I will be darned if I work in the day then come home to hideout in my house because "I should stay home". J Matthew's you should call my employer and tell them they should resist the temptation to operate and shutdown, they will laugh in your face. Just because you dont have to leave your home doesn't mean the millions of working people have the same choices. Hide in your home all you want, stop telling everyone else how to live, it's up to them not you

No one said you can't go fishin. Launching a boat to do it might be a problem in some areas though.
