The announcement was for conservation reserves and provincial parks not conservation areas- which are managed by local conservation authorities. Hopefully the CAs and municipalities that have closures will follow suit and reopen soon!
Its our crown land in the north that needs opening right soon. There's going to be an awful lot of disgruntled pickerel fishermen come opening morning if it isn't. And we all know how fast MNR moves on things.
No they aren't the same. A conservation area is managed by the local conservation authority- ie Toronto regional conservation authority, upper Thames conservation authority. They make their own decisions as to when they will re open. That's why some conservation authorities didn't close during all of this ( for example lower Trent conservation authority didn't close all of their land to public access but ganaraska conservation authority did)
Ontario parks and conservation reserves are run by the province whereas conservation authorities are a more regionally managed thing.
Clear as mud? Lol
Open today? Great. People can go cross-country skiing based on the view outside my window. LOL.
I just drove by Hullet Provincial Wildlife area.
All temporary blockages of roads & parking lots are now removed.
It was the camping on crown that I was referring to. Its ok to travel or hike or whatever for the day.
