cottontail working on her foruth nest

So got a doe getting ready for her forth nest already. If only in the wild they are so successful. Downside for me has the dogs on a short lease to keep 'em out of trouble. Nest will be under the thimbleberry bush lower left, see if you can make out the doe top center.

Cool picture. By the look of the amount of cottontails running amuck everwhere I drive they did very well also

Amazing isn't it? I went to clear some ??? out of my garden last week and there are 4 newborns . I covered the spot up again fast ,and have had the pleasure of watching mom breast feed them this week.

Ya had to leave the garden border rough in an effort to keep 'em out. All the clover they can eat and still they took out a pepper plant, beans, and cucumber.

I have quite a population of them around my place, would be nice to see a few more during the season.

I'm not sure where they nest I believe it's at my neighbors, however there's been a coyote frequenting my yard and quite a few other yards in the area so he may be taking advantage. He has a crippled leg so it would be easy picking compared to adults.

They eat rose leaves too. :(

Mrs.T has a dozen Hastas growing all around the yard. There's Rabbits hiding under half of them. When I cut the lawn,there's bunnies running all over the damn place. All our neighborhood yards have 6' fences around them keeping rabbits safe from marauding Coyotes wandering around the 'hood at night.

I have a picture of this bum legged coyote jumping my 6 foot wood/ lattice fence I was completely amazed. He also climbed a 5 foot chain link as I chased him with a big stick as it's my only legal option. He was sleeping in the yard all day until I got home from work.

Geez,and all this time I thought the scratch marks on the gates were from 'coons.

That is an awesome pic of the yote. On a sidenote, this is the 1st year the rabbits have ate lily plants, and they are chewing all the leaves off, not just the flower buds.
