Well the 900 is legal in Canada. I think the Tek is also but I would default to the Garmin product. I run an Astro 320.
Yes with about a 50 dollar price difference I am leaning towards garmin.
My other GPS gear is Garmin.
I would go with a lesser model if it was better for what I want. A two dog model with good range, accurate maps and tracking is better to me then an over featured swiss army one.
I get it. Even my Astro 320 has dozens of features I never use.
We have the Astro 900, and it is more complicated than we would ever need. I really think the Garmin 550 Plus would have been more useful to us than two separate systems, but it is not legal here. The way things are going, it would be the wrong time to try to order something from a supplier south of the border. We have been waiting 7 weeks for a replacement transmitter for our two year old Garmin 550 training system. All we can find out is that it has been shipped. No help whatsoever from Garmin on this. They have our money, and we have no transmitter. Sorry about the rant, I guess my point was that our Garmin 900 is used less than it should be due to it seeming cumbersome and complicated. No experience with the Sportdog.
No the info on the 900 is helpful.
I order stuff from the states, and the route it takes( I can track it ) would drive you crazy. For example Shipped from SALT LAKE UT, goes to Provo UT, Sacramento CA, Los Angeles CA, Salt lake UT, Cheyenne WY, Omaha NE, ST Louis MO, Chicago IL, then disappears for four days. (Package card in mail and wife picks it up.) Still getting updates....Tracking says package has arrived at Canadian Facility, cleared customs, at local Facility, Out for delivery, Delivered.
