With our Thanksgiving pushed back to the Monday this year and the weather decent, I decided to do the drive. On one of the side roads I managed to catch a head pop up on the side of the road, by the time I pulled over and grabbed the 20ga and tried flushing her in the bush she disappeared on me like Houdini...side note lots of road bush/tall grass/foilage still up which was surprising to see
So boots to the ground by 7;30 and managed to find some nice trails to go walking in, some nice cover I thought for sure i'd flush something or at least notice something walking away but alas nada
Managed to bag 1 bird on my last trail of the day which proved worthwhile as I recorded 10k steps, packed it in by 1ish for the haul back to the city...no traffic what so ever on the way home, might be worth switching turkey day to the Mon moving forward
I'd say 50% of the trees still had foilage and were split evenly between green & coloured…this week's rain should help fast forward the process
As a side note, noticed a nice tom just south of the French River in between the Hwy 69 corridor on a rock plateau which was nice to see that far north
