So from reading about all the grouse reports and not having much luck at the other wmu, I decided to head back to my old stomping grounds i'm quite familiar with. After driving 3+ hours, in some rain, wet slush I finally got to my spot by 7;05 and it was still dark out. Decided might as well and use this time to prep, set up off at 7;15 and only 10min in I spot my first on the trail, fire and I hear something to my right and its another one darting, swing over to the right and just about lifting off I fire and the grouse tumbles and rolls...2hrs later I limit out on birds. By the time I finished plucking/gutting the last bird it started hailing then snowing then turning to rain on the way home
Most leaves are down, some frost/flurries/white stuff on the ground which made it easier spotting them today
Good luck and stay safe!
