Hey folks Big Mac and I will throw together a meet and greet on the BOQ sat Jan 25. We will determine exact location on the bay closer to the date as ice changes by the min out there but thinking we do of interested $5 a person and pay out 1st through 3rd ( 70, 20, and 10% ) and will have raffle tickets for prizes for a toonie and donate that money to a local charity. again you can just come out and meet everyone who comes and not have to pay anything.
Sounds like a great idea.
I'd love to be there, but that's my anniversary. See you out there another day Paul!

I'd drive down just to meet LIR......Might even be able to talk my own redhead into a day on the ice. I did once before about forty years ago....
Jeff it should be but If it's not we will find a place with decent ice and not a far walk. I'l be in the bay a few times a week from first ice so I'l make sure it's safe where we go. If you are able to get your quad out and can help shuttle some gear back and forth in exchange for gas I'd be grateful

I would be in for that for that for sure. I don't have an atv or anything. So I can't offer anything in that way but im down to help with anything else, and this will hopefully be my first year ice fishing so would love to come.

hey great white there are lots of cheap places that time of year about 70 a night at twin peaks in napanee.
Plus depending on ice where we can all go I'm sure there will be a few cheap places around. My only concern right now is just we won't be able to set location on the bay til week before. As you all know the ice changes daily and some times by the hour on quinte. Luckily we have tons of options so regardless of where the ice is safe I'm sure we can find some fish
ill keep my eye on the shermins point hay bay area at keep people posted on conditions as i spend every weekend there come january.i have access to that area as well and has been very productive the last few seasons.i will have a sled and quad to help with gear or whatever as well.come on ice

Yes but I won't be taking you all out there we will likely be on big bay or Belleville area due to ice conditions. Even at the best conditions my spot in deseronto is only 2-3 inches of ice, way to much current.Quote:

Hey - Wish I could have made this M&G. Couldn't do the Nippissing one either. Turns out not only a hockey tournament the weekend of the 18th, but also heading overseas for work the night of the 18th back on the 26th Jan now.
I'm hoping to hit up BOQ at least once this winter.

I won't be able to make the 18th, my daughter's18th birthday is Sunday and we were going to celebrate it at the cottage this weekend, however due to the impending storm we had to reschedule it for next weekend. With the amount of rain forecast combined with the current in the BoQ and the warm temperatures next week, the ice conditions could deteriorate quickly.

Exactly ice is changing as we speak. We will be on safe ice but again will have the exact location posted mid week so I know it's safe. Where I am today we started on 12 inches now at 8.
Hard to believe you lost 4" of ice that quick today, whats going to happen tomorrow. I trust what your say,n CCC your out there all the time.
Fished the " sweet spot " deseronto. I think they opened the dam up lines where on a crazy angle by end of day with the increased current.Quote:

Jeff, if you have a use for it, take what you can this trip. I'm sure Mike Pal has already shown Great White how to stack his wood properly, lol not sure the recommended weight but know it holds a 200lb guy as he's lowering himself down over a building. lol not sure that is what you want it for>> maybe if you find the guy who stole your gear. glad to hear your joining us...
and also guys , never a charge for anything I get given to me at work...... this rope that I get usually goes right into landfill, as they can only use it so long. think I gave something like 2000' to BlueIce for his cub scouts a few years ago....

guys we had an experience out there last winter ( probably a windier day than we'll have this weekend ) but a guy ( without cleats ) got blown at least 50 yards down the bay on the ice and had to crawl on his hands and knees to shore.

Ok folks here it is
301 dundas at w Belleville on.
People coming from the east take the first Belleville exit at loyalist wallbridge rd south to hwy 2 ( dundas ) the left on dundas. House is just east of Palmer road, it's under construction you can't miss it. We are walking due south from the house via the back yard, over the tracks and down to the ice. We will be about 250 yrds out.
Parking is limited to only about 4 cars so you can drop gear off and place behind garage and park across the road on Selina.
It's very walkable so I would leave the quads and sleds. Hill on other side of tracks to ice is very steep and icy.
Also this is private property so please be respectful, also a construction site so be careful. I have a key for the garage so if anyone needs to get changed there or anything just let me know. You guys can text me 905 375 3511 if you need anything. Will be there for 630
