If you negotiated a good deal, they'll tell you where to put your credit card.
If they say CC is okay, you should restart your negotiation and ask for another 2% off price for non-CC purchase - 1000 bucks on a 50k car.

A good dealer, one wanting to make the sale, or one you have dealt with on numerous occasions before,( knowing you will be back), would be smart and split the diff. between the points,($), you get and the % they have pay to the card companies.
Then both parties walk away thinking that they got a good deal. And you will be back. Works for us.
Gord, we grew up in a different world. As I get older I am glad I'll be dust in under 40 years. :)
We've touched on how when we grew up families could live "comfortably" on one income. We grew up when houses, cars, appliances and more were built to last. Ta ching Ta ching Ta ching.
Childcare, Food, Braces, Hockey/Dance, more. Ta ching Ta ching Ta Ching
When we grew up, most people spent their entire working lives with one company. I believe the average is 7 now. Maybe that's because a person is lucky and constantly upwardly mobile. I suspect that's not why. So the number of people going their careers without income losses, benefit losses, vacation time losses....
Median Incomes: I struggle to wrap my brain around these numbers.
Car insurance, Hydro rates, a set of winter tires ($1,000), Wheel bearings and brakes.
House insurance and land taxes.....
Data plans ( An O on your Equifax btw)
When we grew up, a person could enter the workforce with or without mountains of student debt and find a decent job....And keep it....
Even Rentals. What's a decent place in Durham region these days, $1,800? I've seen ads for White Oaks ( not exactly a great hood) at $1,500.
And on
And on
Back to savings or the lack there-of and 2021. We are spending ( rightly or wrongly) ungodly sums bailing huge chunks of society and businesses out. Why? Because they can't go a few months.
Saw an update this morning to those numbers and how they think it works......not taking into account that when you give people free money they stop working , not the other way around...
and the kicker..they want us to believe that increasing our taxes to pay for it will be considered an investment HaHa..Quote:
The first, a guaranteed minimum income based on the design of Ontario’s cancelled basic income pilot project, would ensure a minimum income of $24,000 for individuals and $34,700 for couples. The second program, based on a proposal by UBI Works, would guarantee a minimum income of $24,000 for individuals and $36,000 for couples, while also paying a $6,000 “universal dividend” to all adults.
The report found that, depending on which program was used and how it was funded, it would create between 298,000 and 598,000 new jobs after five years, and add between $36 and $84 billion annually to Canada’s GDP.
Each program “has the potential to essentially eliminate poverty in Canada,” the report says, while also raising between $389 and $514 billion in new tax revenues over 25 years.

"Marinescu said he hopes the report will get people to consider basic income programs as an investment with a “rate of return in real economic numbers, not just a cost.”
The report considered a wide range of possibilities for how a basic income program would be funded, from being mostly paid for by government debt, to mostly covered by taxing households and businesses. Smetanin said the analysis showed that to have the most positive economic impact, the program should be funded primarily by taxing higher income households."
UBI is totally backwards thinkings..... Its like if I give my kids an allowance for doing NOTHING then I'll scratch my head and wonder why they dont know the value of money while I also have not instilled a hard work ethic into them... a guaranteed chance at failure..
The day they bring in UBI I will retire. Not hard for me to work cash and collect UBI I will be further ahead. Woohoo.
"Both programs would “claw back” 50 cents for every $1 of employment income and 100 per cent of all income from other government transfers, excluding the Canada Child Benefit and the $6,000 dividend."
So, if you are already receiving OAS, CPP you give it all up in favour of this new program. If you need to supplement your income to pay additional bills due to inflation you will only get 50 cents on the dollar.
Trades people / construction workers, the backbone of our society will only get a marginal amount more of income than people staying at home pulling their chain.
The underground economy is about to disappear once they eliminate cash transactions in the very near future. Tips and services will be taxed at 50%.
Where is the incentive to get people working and dreaming big? The material rewards of working hard and enjoying the fruits of your labour?
A socialist program where everyone is equal, no more / no less.
Gone are the million dollar homes and cottages by the lake. Only the super wealthy will be able to afford it.
Think about how much $40,000 after taxes in real dollars actually buys you these days. Basic living and that's about it.
They are eliminating the middle class.
