The ATT changes in C-71 affect only transport to/from gunsmith, gun show, gun shop, and border point.
It's utterly senseless, as it was designed not to affect 99% of transportation (to/from range) ... so why?

Bill C-42 changed all that, your ATT is now incorporated in your PAL, if you have one for Restricted Firearms.Quote:

I just looked up the actual legislation, not CBC or Gunblog, I see that the amendment did not reverse the gun range part, as long as you are in the same province. I was under the impression that this would be reversing as well, so did the people dealing with the old ATT system at our club, I have not been able to get out since it "passed", even though I do not think it has been put in place yet, not sure of timing.Quote:

At one time the CFO, did have that discretion, about 10 -12 years ago when a retired OPP was placed into the position of CFO [ he was against handguns ], but was removed from that position due to many complaints about his actions and authority.Quote:

Not true. I work in the "business" and we transfer guns all the time. In Ontario the RCMP is satisfied if you just say the person plans to join club X. When they get their new PAL (for a first time restricted purchase) it will have the ATT endorsement on it whether they actually joined a club or not.
