Its ok gilroy some just will argue or blow anything out of portion. Everyone has their time to shine my grandfather once took 4 or 5 deer at the same time. Everyone was great it was the last day of the hunt and with 8 tags unfilled with only 1 deer taken all week.

As for 1 guy filling a bunch of tags happens pretty often and I have seen it on here in the past where I fellow got 4 or more deer for the group.

That's what happens when you party hunt
I bet they would of been mad about not shooting the deer aswell. So it doesn't really matter what you did they would still be upset. Some egos are pretty big.

Others go 2 or 3 seasons without getting a shot off it's just way it goes. Sometimes someone else is luckier than others not all seasons or days are the same.

It sounds like you do things similar to how we do it. When we party hunt, we all kind of pick our spots for opening morning and so forth until a deer gets shot. After that, the folks who have filled tags get last pick, those who haven't had any luck pick first. Doesn't matter if one guy shoots them all, everybody gets an equal share.

I'm sure you can agree there's a difference between a tag hog and an accidental deer magnet, it happens. I've had a few multiple deer years where it seems you just can't pick a bad spot.

If you read into the context of the OP's other post, there didn't seem to be much sharing of the wealth happening. If those were his first 5 deer and his family had shot a bunch in the past, then I guess I can see how things went. He hasn't yet said if he's a new hunter, he's implied otherwise.

Jesus I haven't been on this thread in a while, is this going to become a sticky? Anyways, to clarify, I hunt with my father and sister. My father (as stubborn as he is) always insists I stay on the "good spot" and to "shoot any deer I see that we have a tag for". We're meat hunters so the deer's weight matters more than the "inches on the antlers". My sister usually sits with my father and I'm usually at this spot mentioned, as my crossbow has more range and shoots flatter than my father's excal paradox (he's picking up scorpyd's nemesis next season). This thread was to show the capabilities of scorpyd crossbows, as I barely see anyone using them (hence the title). Not so I can brag that I'm some "amazing shot" as I sure am not, this crossbow just allows me to achieve this. Also my other thread about my success this season was to share and listen to other people's hunting stories, which is the whole point of this forum? I mean you go on the big game forum and every thread is someone (as you say) "bragging" about their deer. I like to see those, you should be proud of the animals you hunt.

There is absolutely no need for this kind of encouragement-regardless that some other people can not shoot 30.06 well enough.
The issue with them is then-they need to learn to shoot well enough-or give up shooting at live beings altogether.

I watched the deer for 30 minutes (got the amazing oppurtunity to see him spar with a 5-point as well) and waited for him to stop in my ranged shooting lane and he happened to stop right beside some brush I ranged at 70 yards. This was a shot based off past experience (as mentioned) and was clear of debris and wind (as mentioned). Are we talking about the same person? You're making it sound as if I wounded him shooting with my eyes closed. You seem awfully bitter.

Sounds like you probably will never get what people are trying to explain. You will learn the hard way and thats unfortunate for the animal. I also have a feeling you wont be seeing as many deer in the future. You may want to not shoot every deer you see to ensure you will have some around in the future. Just a suggestion. Seems like you have a great spot.

Even now i am not really sure do i do the right thing-or just wasting my time with your thread.

You see-i avoid being personal.You do not.
You do not know me much if any -and i know you only from your posts .

You see-great majority of the forum members posting on Your topic disagree with your feat of shooting a quartering to deer at 70 yards with any crossbow for that matter,and/or challenge You about the need for this shot (need for the 5th deer in the season ?) the purpose of this thread and /or ethicality of your shot.

So far we have yet to see sign of understanding of what people try to say,which is fine for me.To each their own.I believe it is also fine with many-but avoid personal attacks or pokes my friend!

You see-i do not call names or personal treats when you say in one thread-You shot your first deer last year,then not long ago you explain to many here,how well you know by experience the difference between sausage made from young deer you took, and older deer ,you took.All this in mere 2 months...Make different deer sausages,try them out in reasonable quantity to have good opinion....Very interesting.........You must have a very productive and fast butcher.


As far as the Hail Mary shot comment is concerned from your post-i was not the first one to say that(even though i agree with that comment )what made You figure you will need to talk me down.....

As far as your imagination is concerned when you made the comment -i make it sound like You wounded the deer with Your eyes closed-well ,even after rereading all of your and my posts ,i never find a single sign of interpretation anything even close to what you say...........imaging things is one ,being factual is another thing.
