Using a Handgun on Private Property

Answer me this.. What's really going to happen with the homicides and shootings? Let's say we ban both handguns and big bad ugly black assault rifles .

What will it solve 20 percent of problem? 30 maybe?? Maybe even as little as 10 percent? What are your thoughts on on this?? As a retired leo you would know a good number it doesn't need to 100 percent right I just want to know from what you think?? Never mind about the guns them self just wanna know how much of a problem it will really solve.?

It's already a known statistic to the police services...there are few hand guns, used in criminal activities, that are registered to a legal owner. It's so low in fact it's the main reason the police chiefs aren't backing a ban any longer. Almost every gun they've seized is already illegal.

Has anyone noticed the original date of this thread? Where did you find this one,fishfood? It's 9 years old. Not much has changed,though,I'll give you that. LOL

So why are all the liberal doctors crying so much for a ban.?? I guess they have to get used to the times and just do their jobs. If they have to fix up a bullet wound then that's what they do its the job they wanted to do.

As for a percentage I would put at around 10 to 15 around percent would be used with legal and registered guns. You know the odd domestic family dispute is a fact but rare and happens on a yearly basis. Also a small number of guns do get stolen. But I wouldn't go past the 15 percent of the problem would be fix by a ban. If 85 percent of the problem remains there is no point in a ban at all.

Also police say last year alone at least 120 gosht guns were made in the article I posted in libs and gun ban .

Also the population of Toronto is only getting bigger the bigger the population means more problems they will have . That goes for everything not just the gun problem.

3 post before me found it yes I read it over and that's why I say it's the same old after almost a decade lol.
Guns in the criminals hands political threats of taking away guns. Same bs without a real way to fix it you would think after this amount of time they would have a real solution lol. Only thing different now is they make their own guns now [emoji54].

The conservatives only regulated since every teenager had a handgun . The use of it was getting out of control and they simply made it a bit harder and to know who had a weapon.

Nothing wrong with regulating things when it gets outta control.
But taking the right to own something that is within our rights is just dirty and predictable liberal move.

You can "cherry pick" all you want with how much damage each political party has done to your "privilege" of owning a handgun but to attack the Liberals all the time is just not right. We have a very eminent expert on here with respect to this topic and I am sure would be happy to answer any of your questions on the history of gun control in Canada.

My home town Glasgow,Scotland is the murder capital of Europe with stupid drunk lads stabbing each other to death every weekend. Has not changed much since I left there in 1976 and yes I walked the beat with a wee wooden stick and a pair of handcuffs.If Glaswegians has access to any type of firearms I would guess their murder rate might easily be double what it is right now. Any country with free access to firearms simply has more murders as firearms kill people faster and better.

What,s going on with the homicides and shootings is that the Canadian public are not overly concerned because the victims do not matter much to them.The victims are black,poor,live in housing projects and many are gang bangers.

Its only when a Jane Creba is shot on Yonge Street that the public starts to take notice or you have another Danforth shooting.

The police are not in the projects in a big way anymore,they do not want to confront or profile the bad guys and are only there to pick up the pieces.
