If I was the OP,I'd be more concerned that after cultivating a close friendship and hunting the property for so long, why did the landowner grant permission to other hunters without so much as giving his friend a "heads up"? Like, what ever happened to friendship and loyalty, sharing hunting space and good sportsmanship notwithstanding? I think the OP has a right to be PO'd.
I've had a good friend/landowner allow two other hunters on the property after he gave me permission. In his defense the landowner isn't a hunter and doesn't understand the value of have exclusive hunting rights. The two guys he allowed on are his BIL and a life long friend. How do you say no to family?? Maybe these two new hunters are higher in the pecking order than the OP. I'd be careful about complaining to either the landowner or the new arrivals in case the final decision doesn't go your way.
LOL
Now I,am getting bored awaiting the wisdom Joe is going to impart on us because we are all wrong so there fore he must have a different opinion or solution, but so far nothing.I took the shootin part away to save him typing it in and now it appears he has no other solutions. Come on Joe be a sport and tell us what you would have done.
Well Gil' - I was gonna tell you what the right thing to do was but now I'm not going to
